Day 222 (Sunday 19/06) - Fraser Island 3/3 (+back to Rainbow Beach)

Wake up around 9am.
Cleaning & packing (we're leaving the camp this morning).

(in our coolbox we find a lot of food that's not ours ... But we'll not complain, it will make a perfect lunch)

We stop on the beach at the entrance to Wabby Lake.

It's a 45min walk in the forest, that leads to the lake.

The site is beautiful.
It's a lake with again cristal clear water (less obvious than McKenzie as it's deeper).
All around the lake there's a forest, except on one side, where it's a big steep dune.
It's really special to have only some areas without trees, and being completely sandy.
We stay there for a while enjoying the sun and having fun.
The water is really cold ... (a bit too much, but it's still good)

On one of the dune far away we can see "Lars" written in the sand ...
Probably the same that "gave" us the food and the goon ;-)

When we get back to the beach, we have lunch there (sandwiches, wraps, and eat all we still have ...).
(thanks Lars ;-) )

We then get back in the vehicles and drive to the barge.
This time it's Charlie that is driving our vehicle, as he was in the leading one until now, and so couldn't drive (he asked us, and as we've all done it, "no worries").

We get to the barge, go on it, and get to the mainland.

Once on the mainland we drive to the company's "garage" to return the vehicles and clean them.
We have to clean our dishes, put away the camping gear, remove most of the sand of the vehicles and check nothing is missing.

Once done, we drive to the hostel, the Dingo's, and check-in again to have our new rooms.
I'm with Tobias in my room, as well as some others (a German girl and an English couple).

With Tobias we go for a walk at the beach (we wer meant to meet the French girls but took to long with our showers ...).

We have dinner at the hostel (cheap one, special offer, pretty good).

We spend the evening there, chilling (Marion, Fanny, Tobias and me).
We also play some baby foot.

We don't go to bed very late, as we're tired from our trip on Fraser.

It was an amazing trip.
