Day 216 (Monday 13/06) - To 1770

Wake up at 6am.

As I'm going to checkout, I see that the reception is closed, and that I can't give the key back and get my key deposit ...
It's only 10$, so it's not that dramatic, but still, it's annoying ...

I then walk up the street (~50m) to go to the bus stop.
There's some people waiting there, a Scottish couple, we talk a bit (they're also on the OzEx bus).
Some more people come to the bus stop.

The bus arrives at 6:45am, and picks us up (we're 9 people in the bus, cool).
The driver is really excellent, Quido, originally from India, but born in Sydney.
He's really cool, and extremely funny ! (constantly making jokes and using funny expressions - "Unreal !", "Extreme !").

Today we have a long way to go, almost 700km.

We make a first stop for breakfast and fuel.

A bit later, we stop for fuel and Quido goes to buy some food for lunch (he offered us to cook a Barbie if we fancied it).

We thus stop a bit later for lunch, and while Quido is cooking, we go to see the beach (don't remember the name of the place - nothing special, just a nice spot to stop for lunch).

For lunch we have sausages and bassa (a really delicious fish !), with pasta salad and bread.
(and Tim Tams + Lychees for dessert !)

We then hit the road to Rockhampton, the beef capital city of Australia.

There we stop to drop the Irish couple, and to buy some snack for those who want.

While crossing the city, we also cross the Tropic Of Capricorn, so we officially leave the tropics (sniff), to enter the sub-tropical area of Oz.

A bit further South, we reach the Discovery Coast, and our stop at "Agnes Water" - "Town of 1770", where I'll stay for 2 nights.
(these are 2 really small villages next to each other, not much to do, but beautiful and nice place to relax)

I stay there during the evening, a bit in the common area on my computer, than go quite early to bed.
